Strategic Research Platform in Marine Chemical Ecology

MARICE was an interdiciplinary research program at the Faculty of Science at University of Gothenburg between 2006-2011. Researchers in biology, chemistry and biohydrodynamics collaborate to improve the understanding of chemically mediated interactions between marine organisms and their environment. Focus was on production and response to bioactive compounds used in chemical defence. Participants come from several departments within the faculty.

The platforms were funded by the Faculty of Science 2009-2011. The platform for Marine Chemical Ecology was in 2012 succeeded by a Centre for Marine Chemical Ecology together with partners from Uppsala University, Chalmers University of Technology and Georgia Institute of Technology, USA.
